A Poem of Daddy Jez to Mariel

REALIZE
My tongue so frail I found,
so pale my visage, so feeble my strength,
Alas, fail all my senses
 As it beholds your inner self in madness.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, as they say;
Yours, I confess, is hid.
Much less be seen even if one may plead;
It is far, far, far, far, far..
Beyond the mortal sight of the majestic seraphs afar.

You are the ultimate Object Noun, indeed.
Prompt your subjects to beget verbs in themselves.
Nominative complements to you they ascribe,
are nothing but syntactic ambiguity;
 nothing good for one, neither for two.

Alas, the attempt of men to modify the un-modified!
to situate your transcendence in temporal tense,
To decipher your semantics in dangling clauses;
to exaggerate your sense in a distorted hyperbole..
To restrict your moods in dichotomy--
you are neither indicative, let alone subjunctive;

But Lo, sometimes you are like pronouns--
You are demonstrative in talent;
Proper in attitude; Common in treatment
But possessive in relationship.

Sometimes you're an "It" sometimes a "she"
at times a "He"
But what are gender nouns applicable for,
If your existence defy the gravity of grammar?

But what are lexemes and morphemes, by the way?
They are incomplete in themselves
They cannot make sense on their own.
Like ourselves,
We need to dwell into the strings of phrases
into the thread of clauses
and into the realm of discourses.

But you are beyond the reach of language.
You are amazing in every way. Unique in its truest sense.
Cute in your stupidest; pretty in your ugliest.
Tell me, Why are words designed to rhyme at the end of the poem?
What are their significance in every line?
What are the beauty of their structures meant for?
Why do birds sing, why do waves clasped in mirth?
What exactly their worth are, if not sung for thee?

Why am I mingling my poetry with prose;
Nothing.. It's your birthday and I had to let my poetic bent to flow.
I had to make you realize your worth..
Even if time comes that your beauty be fade and wither,
Still your Dad will appreciate you forever...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
