. . mapagmasdan kita O mahal, malayo man ang agwat ng mundong ating tinatayuan, magkaiba man ang linggwahe ating nalalaman di man magkatulad ang kultura ating nakasanayan  tulay ng pag-ibig ‘y  siyang mananaig na magtutugma sa dalawang batis  na di magkapares.

Unmindful Endearment

Unminful Endearment ~ Jez love's innocent claws  in childish, stirring strokes made vertical scratches line across the venting  passage of her sadness 'twas love enthused or over-endearing thrill that flies off its weight along with its  friendly sharpened blades alas, it wounds her world!  wilts the flowers  of her garden: once a paradise of health now turning to be an injured Eden.  when emotions unbriddled love uncontrolled harm sometimes more than it cures  so where love goes at panic, there the eyes  of the mind should be on the qui vive.

Spare Us Our Identity

Image
SPARE US OUR IDENTITY Written by Jezreel Madsa Where culture/society changes, there the people's identity follows suit. Most of us, if not all, are fishing too much our individual identity from the changing tide of our dirty society. What is in vogue, we adapt. What is cool for many, we subscribe. The readiness of most people to embrace change, in my opinion, is likely spurred by one's considerable thirst to become click with the hippest trends the media creates. I think the society and everything that dominates life tend to set itself up like a god of whose dictates we follow. When you do otherwise, you experience identity crisis. Inasmuch as dependency is ingrained with our nature as human. Yet by our sinfulness, we prefer to wear a rip-off identity rammed by society down our individual throats, instead of an identity that is seen in relationship with its Maker. "Do not be conformed to the image of this world . . " ~ Romans 12:2 Alas! when your iden

Will See You Soon

Image
WILL SEE YOU SOON Written by Jezreel Madsa I dreamed three nights ago, that was during my Graduation Day, my friends just suddenly dropped a heavy bombshell—i.e. they had my eyes blindfold and it was to my great surprise that when they took off the covering the only person I beheld at the disclose of my sight was no other than my girlfriend— Theophilus Wenkaii !.  I was in deep awestruck that it made me speechless for a minute or two. I just couldn’t believe the woman I have been chatting with in the messenger would finally come out just right there face to face. Boom! At that very moment, I had experienced a foresight of what paradise really looked like. The feeling was extremely strange in a beautiful way. You see, it was one of the best wishes I desire; i.e. to see my girlfriend in the real world. I really wanted to see her in all that she is.  Guess what, she smiled at me and that sufficed to create a sparkle in my eyes. That was probably the loveliest experience I h

Why I love Writing: A Brief Essay (assignment)

Image
WHY I LOVE WRITING? Written By Jezreel Madsa I enjoy writing because it enables me to express my ideas, desires, and philosophy in life. We all have this innate thirst for self-expression, and it is also by means of writing that we become able to gratify our innermost hunger. More than that, in writing I can best explore the limits of my potential to articulate my thoughts. It helps me as well to enhance my knack in organizing my thoughts, creative thinking, and critical factual studies. All of these are subject areas of development in writing.  Aside from this, there are things that are not proper to be explicitly spoken, hence they call for an expression that is implicit. In writing, I can substitute my words with metaphors and other literary devices that conceal my underlying message thereby affording fulfillment of myself. On top of it all, I love writing because it is where I exhibit the real reflection of myself. I show more my personality in writing than I do in

Sigh No More: A Little Narrative

Image
SIGH NO MORE Written by Jezreel Madsa There was this one birthday where I had thought that my ex- girlfriend would make special greetings for me, or should I say, make surprises. My mind the night before my birthday wandered and had made guesswork what bolt from the blue should I expect. I just had had this special longing to be given importance with, especially the people whom I considered so dear in my heart. Hence, I fell off flat on the bed as early as I would and had this excitement for tomorrow’s wake where mirth and celebration awaited. But little did I know that my family forgot what day it was, and my ex-girlfriend was too busy with her school work so much that she greeted me late—i.e. she greeted me the day only after my birthday. It was by that time where I broke down to pieces. My expectation tore me apart. I realized later on that it’s not good to expect too much, but it was also an eye-opener on my part because it enabled me to see my real worth for other pe

Creative Writing—More Than An Expression

Image
CREATIVE WRITING AS AN ENCHANTED REALM OF EXPRESSION Written by: Jezreel Madsa Creative writing is an enchanting realm of expression in a sense that it affords you the poetic leeway to communicate yourself about what you feel, what you dream to become , and what you desire to take place, i.e. without necessarily expressing yourself in plain language. It is this majestic nature of creative writing that takes the writer into different realm of adventures of which readers get a glimpse of the celestial experience of the writer through the linguistic adornment of literary devices. Furthermore, it is the adequate medium that gives justice to the sublimity of emotions of which plain language cannot perfectly articulate. In Creative Writing, the freedom of expression is exercised giving allowance to the writer to take his own canvas and paint his world as creative as he can do.

Creative Writing: An art or a Craft?

Image
Is Creative Writing an Art? Or a craft? Written by: Jezreel Madsa I think there should be no strict dichotomy as to whether Creative writing is an art or is it a craft. It is my contention, nonetheless, that these two attributes are not mutually exclusive rather they can refer both to Creative writing. In other words, Creative Writing bears with itself the nature of being an art and at the same time a craft.  Let me reinforce my point: First, Creative writing is an art insofar as the writer utilizes his mental faculty to creatively generate aesthetic form towards the piece one is composing. It also involves the ability to create proper analogy and beautiful metaphors that appeal to the visual and emotional aspect of the readers. It is liken to a courier, so to speak, through which the experiences, thoughts and feelings of the writer are communicated in a way that is garbed by well-embellished rhetoric and highly imaginative languages. It is for this reason that Creativ

At the Empathy of Nature

Image
At the Empathy of Nature ~ Jez I breathe my letdowns out into the friendless air  of silence . . . And it's the sigh of nature  alone that blends with the melancholy of my tune. Only the noisy wave in the shore hears the unspoken phrases of my heart. . . They are a companion that taps the bluer shoulder of a jealous swain.

Your Voice in the Phone

Image
Your Voice in the Phone ~ Jez Deep down into the lowest Further down, my love. Down, Down Beneath the faintest  purest stillest sound Underneath the Sheoul of your soul Aye!  beneath the unplumbed  layers of your core It's from where this isful air, breathes cuteness onto these simple words you utter through your mouth.  Let it travel once more  to the thinnest  thread of seconds Let it again break the barriers  that filter our conveyance.  May it stretch afresh the corners of my lips and hang them upon the joyful lobes of my ears.
